EXPO MILANO-2015 COMPLETED ITS WORK
A large-scale world exhibition Expo-2015, which launched on May 1 of this year in the Italian city of Milan, ended on October 31.
It was attended by 145 countries, including Uzbekistan, three international organizations (the UN, the EU and the Caribbean Community) and 18 NGOs.
The International Exposition was held under the theme: “Feeding the planet. Energy for Life”. The main purpose of the event was to inform the world community that food should be available, safe and in the required quantity.
A large area of more than 1 million sq. m. was given for the exhibition halls. According to preliminary estimates of the organizers, during the 6 months of the exhibition almost 30 million people visited to this event.
Multiple exposures, thousands of interesting events, including cultural events and meetings in the picturesque Italian city focused on traditions and innovations in food production and security. World Food Day, celebrated annually on October 16, was held in Milan for the first time in its history.
Expo seminars and discussions were dedicated to several topics, connected with the nutrition: improvement of products quality and guarantee their high quality, the prevention of epidemics, the fight against incurable diseases, the spread of effective treatments, informing people about the benefits of and the need for a healthy lifestyle, popularization it among children and young people, the preservation of cultural traditions in cooking and agriculture, the fight against hunger, infant mortality and droughts.
National pavilion of Uzbekistan was also demonstrated throughout the World Expo, occupying 500 square meters. It was attended by about 700 thousand visitors from around the world.
Uzbekistan was able to demonstrate its high potential in the development of the agricultural sector, the production of organic fruit and vegetables, as well as the potential of the food industry by participating in this important international exhibition.
In addition, the participants were able to get acquainted with the achievements of the country during the years of independence and its economic and investment opportunities in the exhibition, as well as provided with information about the conditions of doing business in the free industrial economic zones and a favorable business environment, infrastructure advancement, transport and logistics, rich cultural heritage and history of the Uzbek people.
The successes of Uzbekistan in ensuring food security have gained international recognition. In particular, awarding ceremony for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals was held during the 39th session of the FAO Conference in June 2015. Our country received a special award for outstanding progress towards the eradication of hunger and ensuring food security.
Part of our state’s exposition at the Expo was devoted to a description of the national cuisine, its history, traditions, used technologies, main dishes recipes, bakery and confectionery products. It also presented a wide range of quality wines manufactured in Uzbekistan.
In addition, visitors better acquainted with extended nomenclatures of traditional Uzbek clothes, which attracted the attention via its subtlety and bright colors. In this context, the whole range of the process from cotton production to tailoring.
Booklets and brochures, containing useful information and contacts of the Uzbek producers and exporters of agricultural products, were distributed among the visitors.
As part of the exhibition, a series of presentations were also demonstrated for the Italian public. In addition, the delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the international agricultural forum “From Expo Milano-2015 in the future: to feed the planet” in June.
Participation in the World Exhibition in Milan, along with a demonstration of our country’s economic potential across the globe, contributed to finding new partners, expanding the geography of exports and further advancement of trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan, Italy and other countries.

KUWAITI EXPERTS: UZBEKISTAN - ONE OF THE MOST ATTRACTIVE COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD IN TERMS OF POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC STABILITY
In an interview with the Jahon Information Agency Kuwaiti experts shared their comments on the participation of Uzbekistan in the World Exhibition EXPO Milano 2015.

- We know that Uzbekistan has been involved traditionally in various international economic and agricultural exhibitions. In this regard, organization of Uzbekistan\'s National pavilion at EXPO Milano 2015 is important for the national economy.
Participation in such events provides opportunities to demonstrate the country\'s achievements, its economic and investment potential, rich cultural heritage, history and modern development. Such sites are meeting place for new foreign partners and investors, who may be interested in the implementation of promising projects, primarily in countries where provided by political and economic stability. In this regard, Uzbekistan can be considered as one of the most attractive countries in the world. The country in recent years there has been a high rate of economic development, great attention is paid to the creation of high-tech industries, the production of export-oriented products, all the conditions for national and foreign investors.
The country also successfully developing agriculture. Due to favorable climatic conditions, fruits and vegetables in Uzbekistan are of high quality, natural and unique taste. I think that the presentation of dried fruits and sweets cluster \"Fruits and vegetables\" at the World Exhibition EXPO Milano 2015 will positively affect the increase in the volume of their exports and attracting foreign tourists to Uzbekistan.

ON THE PARTICIPATION OF THE DELEGATION OF UZBEKISTAN IN THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF MILAN EXPO 2015.
The Uzbek delegation headed by Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Sh.Teshaev took part in the Forum "Expo Milano 2015 - in the future: agriculture to feed the world", which took place on 4-5 June 2015 in Milan.
During the two days of discussions, presentations and discussions in the three sessions of the event were discussed the state and prospects of development policy in the fields of agriculture, food, food culture, food security. At the forum "Charter of Milan" was presented, signing which the citizens, companies and institutions take the responsibility for ensuring the right to food and to promote sustainable development in the world.

UKRAINIAN EDITION ABOUT THE PARTICIPATION OF UZBEKISTAN IN THE EXPO MILANO-2015

UZBEKISTAN IS ACTIVELY PREPARING FOR THE WORLD’S FAIR EXPO MILANO 2015
Posted on February 10, 2015 : According to the Joint Stock Company National Exhibition Company (JSC NEC) “Uzexpomarkaz”, currently preparations are under way for country’s participation in the World Exhibition Expo Milano 2015 (Italy).
The main slogan of the upcoming exhibition, which will be held in the Italian city of Milan from May 1 to October 31 this year – “Feeding the planet. Energy for Life”.
Coordinator of the preparatory activities for the organization of the National Pavilion of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the exhibition is the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC “Uzexpocentre”.
The purpose of the upcoming forum – providing access rights for all people on the planet to a sufficient number of high-quality safe food.
According to the organizers, Expo Milano 2015 will be attended by more than 150 countries worldwide.
Presentation of opportunities in the production of safe food will help attract investment to start new enterprises on production of food products from the traditional local raw materials, such as vegetables, fruits, dairy products, cereals.
For the national pavilion of Uzbekistan organizers Expo Milano 2015 provides two integrated modules on two levels in a cluster “Fruits and beans” with a total area of 500 sq.m.
According to the plan coordinator, is expected to create a beautiful, attractive pavilion, harmoniously combines tradition, innovation and creativity in food.
Introductory section will present a multi-million visitors with information about the country, its ancient history, modern potential, developing a strong economy, investment opportunities, cooperation in the field of international transit, tourism potential, culture, etc.
Thematic sections within direction of the “Expo”, commonly reflect the export potential of the agricultural sector, investment opportunities fastest growing food processing industry, food independence and security of the country under a state program, and winemaking traditions and peculiarities of Uzbek national cuisine.
Work exhibition will be accompanied by a continuous display of specially trained cognitive, species, scientific films and short clips by category sections.
The pavilion will be equipped with audio-stereo system for music.
Problems that are brought by the organizers of the World Forum for solutions on a global scale are equally relevant today, as for the whole world, and for the region.
Noted that the World Exhibitions (WorldExpo) are among the largest economic, social and cultural events in the world. Held under the auspices of the International Exhibitions Bureau (IEB), they contribute to the promotion of national values at the global level, promote cultural, economic, scientific and technical exchanges between two countries.

Posted on March 6, 2015 : The world exhibition of “Expo Milano 2015” will be held in the city of Milan (Italy) from 1 May to 31 October 2015. Uzbekistan will also participate in it.
In accordance with the Presidential decree from December 29, 2014 the work on preparation of the exhibition companies of our country and organization of the National pavilion of Uzbekistan in Italy has been commenced.
The world exhibition was held for the first time in 1851 in London. Due to its scale and efficiency, it was decided to hold it later in other countries.
The prestige of this event is evidenced by the fact that the world-famous Eiffel Tower was built in connection with the world exhibition “Expo Paris 1889” held in Paris. In 1928, Association for world exhibitions – Bureau of international exhibitions was organized in France. Since then, the country in which organized this exhibition is selected by voting. The world exhibition “Expo” held every five years which is continues at least six months.
It is expected that more than one thousand companies from 150 countries will take part in the forthcoming world exhibition, which will be held under the theme “Feeding the planet, energy for life”. The exhibition will bring together more than 30 million people. The event will cover all the current trends in the economy, agriculture and food industry. Dozens of thematic sections will operate: environmental protection; biodiversity conservation; development of agriculture; security of food production, its storage; innovative production; technologies and others.
The world exhibition “Expo Milano 2015” will contribute to the popularization of the great economic potential of Uzbekistan, the study of international needs in the food industry, to identify new partners, expanding exports and also the further development of trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation with Italy.

Expo Milano-2015: preparation is in full swing
The other day at the headquarters of the International Exhibitions Bureau (Bureau International des Expositions, BIE) in Paris held a regular meeting of the Executive Committee of this structure.
Our reference: The Republic of Uzbekistan was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Exhibitions Bureau for two years at the 154th session of the General Assembly of the BIE in November 2013.
During the meeting reports of BIE secretariat and reports of the organizing committees of the host countries for the nearest future upcoming exhibitions were heard.
At the meeting focused on preparations for the World\'s Fair Expo Milano-2015 in Milan, which will be held under the theme \"Feeding the planet. Energy for life\".
Announced that the official opening of the exhibition will be held on May 1, 2015 with the participation of the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
According to representatives of the organizing committee of Expo Milano-2015, the number of countries participating in the exhibition has reached 140. At the moment, built 54 individual pavilions, and there are 80 group members.
Over the next 6 months of the exhibition is scheduled for 114 days of national countries participating in the event. Is also expected to visit 50 foreign heads of state and government.

Uzbekistan to participate in Expo Milano 2015
Uzbekistan will participate in the exhibition Expo Milano 2015, which will be held in Italian city of Milan from 1 May to 31 October 2015.
Uzbekistan will participate in the exhibition with single pavilion in line with the presidential resolution from 29 December 2014. The pavilion will be divided into four sections – Economy, Agriculture, Food Industry, Culture and National Cuisine.
