The next region to host the Youth festival “We are the children of a great country!” was the Andijon region.
This large-scale event, which includes 20 target projects, is organized by the “Kamolot” Public Youth Movement (PYM) jointly with ministries, Government agencies and the regional administration,
These projects under the titles “Deputies and the youth”, “Heroes of our times”, “My contribution to the advancement of my Motherland” and others have been held in the form of “round table” discussions, creative meetings, sport events and different types of activities.
A large group of scholars, poets and writers, art and cultural workers arrived from Tashkent to take part in the festival. The events were held in all the towns and districts of the region. Youth centers and sport arenas accommodated the events.
The opening of the forum in the Oltinkol district was held at the children’s Music and Art School № 17. The youths and girls discussed such issues as preservation of national customs and traditions and the study of the nation’s cultural heritage.
The young people of Buloqboshi district had a meeting with parliamentarians, in the course of which the young citizens demonstrated their aspiration to keep abreast with the socio-political life of the country.
Discussions at School №37 in Baliqchi district were focused on the problems of protecting the youth from the impact of destructive ideas, which present a threat to common human values. A quiz was organized on this topic and the winners received books as prizes.
Within the framework of the project “No one will remain outside mercy and attention” the participants of the festival visited the war and labor front veterans and the “Sakhovat” and “Muruvvat” charity homes.
The final accord of the youth forum was a gala concert at the regional “Soghlom avlod” stadium, which accommodated 25,000 spectators.
The youth festival “We are the children of a great country!” devoted to the 25th anniversary of the Republic’s independence continues marching on along the regions of the country. On the eve of the Day of Memory and Honors it was marked in Namangan region.
This traditional event organized by the Central council of the “Kamolot” Youth public movement and other organizations is aimed at familiarizing the youth with the democratic transformations taking place in society, strengthening the feeling of belonging to them, and protecting the youth from the negative impact of the “mass culture”, bringing up the youths and girls in the spirit of love for their Motherland and respectful attitude to national values.
The outreach promotional teams made up of deputies of the Legislative chamber of Oliy Majlis, prominent writers, scholars, theatrical and cinema actors, singers and sportsmen have conducted spiritual-enlightenment events within the framework of the festival with the participation of students, school children and cadets in all the towns and districts of the region.
20 projects realized in the course of the festival have aroused tremendous interest with the youths and girls of the region.
Thus, at the event organized in the regional center and the districts of the region within the frame of the project “This is my Motherland!” discussions concentrated on conditions and opportunities arising on the way of building up a constitutional democratic state, strong civil society, and about changes taking place in our life.
Many initiatives were advanced at the projects “Khokim”(Mayor) and the Youth” and “My Motherland is My Pride” held in all the districts of the region. They were directed at boosting the country’s socio-economic development and opening up the potential of the youth.
Another event “Deputy and the youth” was organized with the participation of senators and the deputies of Oliy Majlis. It was held in the form of a discussion about the implemented reforms in the sphere of ensuring the rights and interests of the growing generation, laws on the youth and their execution.
The participants of other events titled “People Trafficking is a problem of the time” and “Terrorism and extremism are a threat to the future of the youth” had exchanged views on the issues of protecting the youths and girls from the impact of destructive ideas, which are a threat to man, his honor and dignity.
The youth warmly welcomed the plays, short documentaries, and concerts prepared by student theatrical studios, young cinematographers, and youth symphony orchestras, which were staged, screened and performed in the regional theater, palaces of culture, cultural and entertainment centers, and in the parks.
The festival wound up its work with a gala concert with the participation of variety signers and musicians at the “Navbakhor” central stadium in Namangan.
